Particle Accelerators in India

Fellow of American Physical Society

to

Dr. Srinivas Krishnagopal

Fellow of APS

Year | 2022

It is a great pleasure to share with all of you  that Dr. Srinivas Krishnagopal, President, ISPA has been elected a fellow of American Physical Society (APS).

The citation for this distinct honour to Dr. Krishnahopal, as displayed on the APS website reads that this is recognition of his “wide-ranging contributions and leadership to the physics of beams, including important contributions to collective beam-beam effects, initiating the free-electron laser and leading the high-intensity proton accelerator programs in India, and the Indian collaboration on PIP-II at Fermilab.”

Fellowship is a distinct honour signifying recognition by one's professional peers. Each year, no more than one half of one percent of the Society’s membership (excluding student members) is recognized by their peers for election to the status of Fellow of the American Physical Society”.

Detailed list of all the elected fellows of APS is also available on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_Physical_Society_Fellows_(2011%E2%80%93)).

Indian Particle Accelerator Conference (InPAC)2023

13-16 March 2023

Convention Centre, BARC Mumbai

InPAC 2023

InPAC is a biennial national event dedicated to the field of particle accelerators and related industry. The inaugral conference of the series was held in the year 2003 at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, India, which houses the only synchrotron radiation sources of India named Indus I and II.

Objective of the conference is to provide an ultimate platform to accelerator physicists & technologists of the country to exchange valuable experiences, expertise and knowledge. This platform also provides opportunity to share new ideas and recent developments among scientists and technologists, particularly younger generation, actively involved in design and development of frontier technologies in the field of particle accelerators.

The InPAC-2023  is the eleventh in series of conferences on particle accelerators organized under the aegis of Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Department of Atomic Energy  and Indian Society for Particle Accelerators, is being organized at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai during March 13-16, 2023.
